Unique and hard to find clothing for the ultra hip modern gypsies and hippies who dance to the beat of their own drum. I shop the major clothing shows on the West Coast to select the funkiest clothing I can find. Most are manufactured in 3rd world countries. I try to be selective: No child labor, and maybe pay a little more for top notch quality. I bring you only what I'd wear myself. First let me say any spots you see are from the flash and my crummy camera. This is even dark brown in color.
New with tags. These are not the run of the mill kurtas. So if you want the cheap chuck ones that fall apart even when you hand wash 'em, pass this one by. This isn't that. This one is "industrial" so if you do a lot of massage therapy, yoga, meditation, card reading...well, the list goes on...this one is a work horse.
It's 100% rayon, but don't start whining yet. This process has given this one some texture. It sort of reminds me of shantung but the nubs and slubs are much more downplayed. It's got a really nice hand to it but you'll need to hand wash in cold water.
But it's worth it. I've gone to lots of shows and bought plenty of tunics but this one is just a notch up in the quality.
Ok, so it's got the henley style with the 4 little buttons down the front, the long sleeves and the tonal embroidery around the neckline, on either side of the buttons and also where the sleeves are joined. But this one has really cool on seam side pouch pockets.
Plus it's an overly long one with 10" side slits for freedom of movement.
But the main seller for me was the "hand" of the fabric. It's a bit heavier, as I said but not so much an overcoat or anything like that.
And these cost more, 'cos they're made better and have those details you dont normally find.
Ok, here's the thing. I ordered 2 in every size but I didn't get that. I got smalls and mediums. But before you go packing, please take a look at the measurements as they really are quite roomy.
Now, I take the measurements flat, from side to side; so double and then subtract your own wiggle room.
SMALL
Bust: 26" and that measurement is taken from side to side at the top of the seam where the sleeve is sewn in.
Waist at the top of the hidden pockets is 25"
Hips are 27" taken at the bottom of the hidden pocket
Bottom from side to side is 31"
Length is 36"
Sleeves This one has a wide shoulder, so from the neckline to the bottom of the sleeve measures 28" with just the sleeve measuring 21"
Still thinking small? To me it's more like a L
MEDIUM
Bust: 27" and that measurement is taken from side to side at the top of the seam where the sleeve is sewn in.
Waist at the top of the hidden pockets is 26"
Hips are 28" taken at the bottom of the hidden pocket
Bottom from side to side is 32"
Length is 36"
Sleeves This one has a wide shoulder, so from the neckline to the bottom of the sleeve measures 28" with just the sleeve measuring 21"
