For sale is a very hard to find LOT of 4 SPORTS GREATEST LEGENDS GLASS. All are in excellent condition. Each has only minor handling wear. There are no cracks or chips. The gold leaf image areas each has some minor flaws in the gold leaf imprint. Overall these glasses are in beautiful looking shape. Each displays near perfectly. These glasses are are from the early 1950's. I believe these were available from 1950 to 1953. These are old food packaging / jelly jar glasses from the early 1950's. Several years sets were available. Each class can be dated by the latest date indicated on each glass. Each year updated the latest player or team to be deemed great that year. I believe a complete set of 8 glasses was available for each year? So these four comprise a partial set of glasses. Each glass lists each sports greatest players from the years 1933 to 1951. The sports glasses included are FOOTBALL 1950, GOLF 1951, TENNIS 1951, and ALL TIME GREATS (no dates). The ALL TIME GREATS glass include players from all sports ( RUTH THORPE twice, DEMPSEY, MIKAN, OWENS, JONES, TILDEN WEISMUELLER ) and "MAN O' WAR" from horse racing. The last date indicated on each glass indicates the year it is from. The football glass has college teams listed for each year. The 1950 team is University of Oklahoma. The golf glass 1951 Ben Hogan. The tennis glass has Frank Sedgman. This is a great looking group of glasses. Each really displays beautifully.
