DESCRIPTION:Vintage, 8"x8" Ceramic tile, shiny crystal resin finish featuring R.C. Gorman's work (1932-2005), "Woman in a Red Blanket" has a brief history of R.C. Gorman on the tag located on the back, Gorman's signature and 1977 the year the original drawing was painted are printed on the front lower left corner.This is a decorative tile, not to be used as a trivet as heat can damage it. MAKER: Harmony Design, Inc, Boulder, Colorado AGE: 1980/81, approximately 32 years old. CONDITION: Excellent, two minor scratches, no chips, cracks or crazing.BOX:No box, no COA. STAND:Mount on back for hanging and a photo stand. Never used. DAMAGE/ODOR: None. OWNER: Original owner. HISTORY: This collectible "Crystal" tile features work by the world famous R.C. Gorman, known as the "Picasso of the Southwest" and is world renowned for his depiction of Navajo women. His work is well known for its simplicity and his colorful depiction of Navajo women, in particular, this one is titled "Woman in a Red Blanket", one of his first works. Tile measures 8 inches by 8 inches, and its finish is called a "crystal" finish due to the lustre of the shiny resin coating. These beautiful ceramic tiles are also used as a countertop or backsplash inlay, without the backing hardware. DISPLAYED/STORED: Displayed/stored in a closed china armoire.
