*Health-Promoting Antioxidant

Tribulus Terrestris -This all natural herb has been used traditionally to enhanceworkout performance and sexual function.  Animal studies have indicated an increase in testosterone by as much as 25% [1]. Additionally, studies on sexually sluggish rats showed tribulus to help increase mount frequency, intromission frequency, penile erection index, and decrease mount, intromission, and ejaculatory latency [2].

Deer Antler ExtractHumanely extracted from deer, antlers regenerate and have been used traditionally to support increased strength and sexual performance. A study from the University of New Brunswick found that deer antler velvet was able to increase both knee extensor strength and endurance when compared to placebo group [3].

Tongkat Ali Root- A Malaysian herb traditionally used as a sexual performance therapy, tongkat ali has recently been found to also help spur muscle growth, size, and fat loss in men engaged in intense strength training. After five weeks of training, the treatment group of a University of Malaysia study saw a more than 2kg (4.4 pound) increase in lean body mass, while the placebo group saw no increase. Arm circumference increased 1.8cm in the treatment group without any change in the placebo group. One rep maximum increased 6.78% in the treatment group versus 2.77% in the placebo group. Finally, those taking tongkat ali lost 9.1% of their total body fat mass versus the placebo group who lost 6.6% of their body fat mass [4].

Rhodiola Rosea- Best known for its role as an adaptogen, meaning a therapy designed to help the body adapt to stress, rhodiola has also been studied recently as an exercise aid. Researchers found that rhodiola was able to help those engaging in endurance exercise increase their amount of time before exhaustion by 2.3% and increase their VO2 peak (maximum oxygen intake) by 5.8% [5].  Additionally, rhodiola was shown to help reduce the rise of lactate and parameters of muscle damage after exhaustive exercise [6].

DHEA- One of the hormonal precursors to testosterone and estrogen, DHEA provides the body with the raw materials it needs to keep performance at tip top shape. A University of California study found that men aged 50-65 who supplemented with 100mg of DHEA lost a kilogram (2.2 pounds) of fat mass and saw increases in knee muscle strength (15.0%) and lumbar back strength (13.9%) [7].

Octacosonal - The primary ingredient in policosanoloctacosonal is often found in eucalyptus leaves and in wheat germ. It has been shown in animal studies to improve exercise endurance by as much as 44% [8].

5-Methyl-7-Methoxy-Isoflavone- This is a powerful natural compound, recently shown to help the body retain nitrogen and synthesize protein, thereby helping muscles grow significantly [9].

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA)- This compound is widely known as one of the body's most powerful antioxidants. More recently, research has shown that ALA also helps increase the uptake of glucose into muscle cells and also can increase total muscle creatinecontent when consumed with creatine [10].

Vitamin B6 - Deficiencies in B6 can lead to impairment of glycogen degradation in muscle, meaning that the muscle's short term energy stores don't work as well, at least according to animal studies [11]. The inclusion of vitamin B6 guards against this deficiency state.

Zinc- This mineral is known to help with the production of male hormones and has been shown to as much as double testosterone levels when zinc-deficient men are supplemented into a sufficient state [12].

MagnesiumIt has recently been shown that serum magnesium status was significantly associated with muscle performance, grip strength, lower leg strength, and knee and ankle extension strength [13].
